Administration 

Club Director - Brick Street - bnkstreet@comcast.net
Brick has been playing volleyball most of his adult life as well as coaching since 1985.  Brick has been the Varsity Volleyball Coach at Grant High School for the last 16 years and a Club Volleyball Coach for the last 12 years.  In 1981 Brick was Men's MVP  for the Columbia Empire Volleyball region. 1997 Brick played in the Australian pro tour and his team won the Brisbane Open.  In 2002 - 2003 the Brick played on the national championship team.  Brick is currently the Director of the PDX-VB Club.  Brick's main focus is on player development and working with the younger players U12 - U14.

Player Coach - Stuart Blackburn - volleystu@comcast.net
Stuart started playing Co-Ed city league at age 17.  He was an outside hitter and later, while playing club ball, became middle blocker. He played club ball at Eastern Washington University for 2 years. While at Eastern, he also coached the women's club team during tournament play.  He has played 6-man, Quads, Co-ed 6's, Doubles and Mixed Doubles, both indoors and outdoors (grass & sand).  For the last four years, he has been working with a church youth group as well as teaching them volleyball.  The age range was 14 -19 years of age and the team was made up of boys and girls. They played adult teams and mixed adult youth teams.  Stuart truly has a love of the game and plays whenever he can.  This is Stuarts third year as coach with PDX-VB club and we are lucky to have him. He will be coaching working with the girls U16 & U18 high performance teams.

General Manager - David Anderson - David@PDX-VB.com
David has been coaching and playing volleyball for the last 20 years. He started playing volleyball at the Multnomah Athletic Club and was a Grass Doubles champion in several local tournaments.  He started coaching in 2001 and has been an active coach ever since.  David started the Wilson-VB Volleyball Club in 2004 & PDX))VB in 2006 where he was the director/coach.  Because of his passion for volleyball, he has taken extensive coaches training including, Terry Liskevych's (current head coach at OSU) high performance coaching clinic.  David is currently the General Manager of PDX-VB Club.

U18 Coaching Staff 

Coach - Andres Turvis - turvispr@live.com
Started playing volleyball when he was 10 years old. Played for a club called Borinquen Coqui, in Puerto Rico as an opposite hitter. In his second season of High School he lead his team to a 2nd place victory in the region.  After graduating from High School he went right into coaching Club and High School.  In 2007 the club team he was coaching (13u Fusion Volleyball Club) went to the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) National tournament in Atlanta Georgia and won the 3rd place in the gold division. Andres has been working with volleyball players in the community ever since he moved to Portland with high intensive skills clinics and in also coaching at Grant High School.  Loves everything about the game and will always be involved in volleyball.

Lana started playing volleyball for her middle school in Colorado when she was 10. She continued on to play four years in high school and four years for club where she traveled all over Colorado and several neighboring states for competition. For the majority of her playing experience, she played as an outside hitter. Volleyball has been a passion of Lana's for over ten years and this will be here first year coaching.

U16 Coaching Staff 

Coach - Erin McNulty - erin.mcnulty@gmail.com
Erin has been playing volleyball for the past 18 years.  She was involved with club volleyball throughout her four years at Grant High School and believes that the club experience, hard work, and a passion for the game were the factors that led her to earn numerous recognitions, including Honorable Mention All State as a setter her senior year of high school.  Although Erin's athletic focus in college was Rugby, she continued to find ways to play her first love.  Erin has just finished her first season as Varsity Head Coach at Madison High School.  During the past club season, Erin coached the PDX U-16's Orange team and she looks forward to coaching a new group of girls this season to be skilled, determined, and smart volleyball players.

Jen Barker grew up playing on the courts and beaches of  San Diego.  A lifelong setter, Jen's high school years were spent feeding much taller hitters at La Costa Canyon High school, Coast Volleyball Club and San Diego Volleyball Club.  During this time she was received accolades such as 1st Team All Conference player, 2x Team MVP and Team Captain, San Diego Union Tribune Female Athlete of the Month, Redondo Beach Power Classic Tournament MVP , San Diego Hall of Champions 1997 High School Female Inductee, and was a starting setter for several top division teams in the southern California club region.  She played college ball at Linfield College then Portland State University. At Linfield, Jen was a 2 x 1st Team All Conference Player, Team Captain, 2x Team MVP , 2x Team Most Inspirational Player and led the NCIC league in assists and service aces.  Her coaching experience spans back to 1998 and includes time at McMinnville Girls VB Club, Blues Volleyball Club, St. Mary's High school , and Cascade Juniors VBC. After which she returned to San Diego to hang up her kneepads and focus on a career in Product Marketing and a graduate degree in Sustainable Business.   Newly back to Portland to start her own company, Jen is very excited about getting back into coaching and the sport of volleyball.  She believes that many of the successes she's enjoyed in her career and education comes from the amazing lessons learned as a volleyball player and hopes to pass these on to her players, helping them become confident, articulate and successful women.

Ben has played volleyball sense he was nine years old, playing in high school in Wisconsin and Missouri Valley College a Division 2 school.  Currently he Coaches at Catlin Gabel School.  He enjoys working with youth and developing new players.  He brings enthusiasm and excellent volleyball skills along with being well liked by his players.

U14 Coaching Staff 

Coach - Ashley Glisson - coach.aglisson@gmail.com
Coach Glisson has personally played competitive volleyball since the time she was in 5th grade.  She was apart of a sister city team that travelled to Japan in 1997 and had all conference as well as all state awards in high school.  Coach Glisson also played one year for George Fox University .  Her coaching experience includes instruction on skills and agility through summer camps, as well as coaching all age levels at the high school level in both school and club volleyball.  Coach Glisson is currently the Head Volleyball Coach at Wilson High School.

Amy played varsity volleyball at Barlow high for 3 years and was on two state championships team.  She was 1st team all state junior & Senior year, 1st team all tournament and 1st team all conference as well. She played club volleyball for Nike NW Jrs. In collage she play at Mt. Hood Community College her team won our Southern Conference and 2nd in NWAAC's, She was 1st team all southern conference and 2nd team all NWAAC that year. Sophomore year at Mt. Hood they were Southern Conference champions and she 1st team all conference and MVP all conference. Also during sophomore year they won NWAAC's that year where she received 1st team all NWAAC, MVP and I was 1st team all American. Then went to finish her playing career at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah (Division 1 Big Sky Conference).  She coached at Centennial High School for 2 years at the freshman level as well as coaching at Wilson High School last year at the freshman level.  We welcome Amy to PDX)))VB!

Nadia  played 3 years of Varsity volleyball at Cleveland High School from 2000-2002. She has been the JV Volleyball coach at Cleveland for the past three years and the Freshman Volleyball coach at Cleveland for the two years prior.  She is looking forward to being a club coach for the first time.

U12 Coaching Staff

Bill began coaching High School Volleyball in 1986 in Marin County, California.  In 17 seasons, he coached Freshmen, JVII, Frosh-Soph & Varsity Girls Teams at 5 different schools in two states.  In 2004, Bill began working with girls from Laurelhurst Elementary to introduce them to the sport.  Last year marked this group of girls’ first-ever exposure to Club Volleyball playing as the U12 Lions.  For 2008, he looks forward to continuing the development of volleyball skills in these girls as well as many new faces under the banner of PDX)))VB Club.

Coach - Doria Hastings - hastidr@pdx.edu
Doria developed an interest in volleyball in elementary school and has been playing and coaching in the Seattle area ever since.  In addition to playing for both her junior high and high school teams she played 3 years of club volleyball as a Libero/Defensive Specialist and 2nd setter.  In the summer of 2003 Doria got her first taste of coaching at the Kentridge Charger Volleyball camp and loved it.  During her junior year of high school she began assistant coaching at her old junior high school where she continued to coach for a total of 4 seasons between 2004 and 2007.  In June 2008 she was one of the coaches at a Skyhawks Volleyball camp for players between the ages of 8 and 15.  Doria’s coaching philosophy is based on creating a positive and fun learning environment so that players can improve their game while simultaneously developing a passion for volleyball.
